Ram has over 30 years experience in Market Research and Analytics. He primarily worked for Nielsen and Kantar in India, and across different countries in the Middle East and North Africa. He has also worked on the client side for Godrej heading their Marketing Services department. In the recent past he has also functioned as an entrepreneur in an analytics firm.
He has consulted business entities – both large and small – operating in FMCG, Telecom, Banking, Automotive, Pharma and Consumer Durables. And in the more recent past he has been consulting entrepreneurial start-ups, providing them insights and direction with his understanding of data and analytics.
His strength is in making sense of data and deriving actionability from it - a skill which he believes is getting increasingly rare due to the pervading notion that technology = analytics. He is also uniquely skilled as he understands both qualitative and quantitative data. His core areas of expertise include Deciphering Target Groups, Assessing Feasibility of ideas, Concept-Product Evaluations, Understanding Consumer Needs and Motivations, and helping improve Branding, Communication and Customer retention.
Having been part of a start-up, Ram fully realizes the challenges and excitement of being an entrepreneur, and derives tremendous satisfaction in coaching and mentoring start-ups.
He is open to also providing pro-bono services to deserving start-ups.
During his spare time, Ram dabbles in the Stock Market searching for Value small cap picks and trying to identify the next Indian business giant.
